Andrea Di Giovanni was born in Rome June 25, 1994; from an early age, Andrea demonstrated a love and passion for music. When he was just 4 years old began to study classical piano and music theory and when he was 8 years old began to take singing lessons.
For Andrea music becomes an outlet, a way to explore his emotions looking for new awareness, and express himself.
In 2011 he studied singing with Stefania Calandra, the Italian blueswoman which has assets of collaborations with many great artists, including Lionel Richie, Phil Collins, Zucchero, Giorgia and Alex Baroni.
On September 2011, thanks to the publication on his Facebook profile of his audition for the semifinals of the Tour Music Fest, he was contacted by Emanuela Mazza, the president of the ‘Friends of Liver Transplantation Association (AATF); she asked Andrea to become the testimonial of a prevention and information advertising campaign about alcohol consumption and awareness about organ donation for youth, realized, thanks to his post, in collaboration with the Tour Music Fest.
Credici is the title of his song, arranged together with Velvet, written for the Campaign to launch the Competition SONG 4 LIFE for which, in 2012, he shot his first music video and his first TV commercial.
On June of 2012, he won the competition ‘Hunting Stars’. During the same summer, as Song 4 Life testimonial he opened the Radio Rock Night and some other roman shows and was host at La Maddalena Singing Festival, in Sardinia.
In September participated in Puglia, at the Music Village Pop and in November performed as special guest and testimonial of SONG 4 LIFE, playing with Velvet, for the final of Tour Music Fest, at the Piper Club (Rome).
The year 2012 represents a turning point for Andrea also relatively to the singing study method, choosing a new teacher: Gabriella Scalise.
In February 2013 he began his adventure to Amici 12, an Italian Talent Show, where he also performed his original song Un altro no, written and composed by him, with the arrangement of the Velvet; the song is in the Compilation of Amici in 2013.
In July 2013 he attended the GMG and Friends European Tour and opened Arisa concert, in one of the dates of her AMAMI TOUR, where Andrea presented some original songs of his new art project.
In October 2013 he moved to London to attend the Tech Music School/BIMM London studying the One Year Diploma in Popular Music Performance.
In December 2013 he performed a duet with Tosca, in Rome, at Salone Margherita. Together they sang What a wonderful world.
In June 2014 he performed in London, on the stage of the Shepherd’s Bush Empire for the GRADUATION LIVE 2014 event by Tech Music School.
In summer 2014 he keeps gigging in some local English venues as PROUD Camden, Ping Bar (Earls Court) etc., as a soloist or with BAM, a group he founded in London.
In October 2014 he decided to start a BA Degree in Creative Musicianship at BIMM London.
In December 2014 he performed at BIMM London 1st End of Term Showcase at the 229-The Venue in Great Portland Street, presenting his first single Hold Me Once More.
In March 2015 he performed at BIMM 2nd End of Term Showcase at 02 Academy Islington, presenting his second original Destroyed.
In May 2015 he began to perform in various London venues as The Chelsea Pensioner, The Workshop (Old Street), The Underbelly and The Troubadour (Acoustic and Live Band Gigs) presenting a mixed set of originals and covers.
In June 2015 he performed for the second year at the 02 Shepherd’s Bush Empire for the BIMM London’s Event GRADUATION LIVE presenting his 3rd original track Save Me From My Tears.
During the whole 2015 Andrea and his band (Ollie Dixon on drums, Lucas Vezirian on bass, Carl-philip Olander on guitar, Becky Arundel on keys and backing vocals, Jessica Lovelock and Patrick Reis on backing vocals) worked on his upcoming EP Soultrip.
All the tracks have been arranged together with the band and some of them co-written with the amazing and talented UK songwriter, Becky Arundel.
The Ep which will be released in June 2016 is a trip into Andrea’s soul and shows his inner emotions and feelings about the most important relationships in his life. The sound is a mixture of pop, catchy melody lines surrounded by an electronic dance vibe.
In the writing of the Ep Andrea has been deep influenced by artists like Sam Smith and Jess Glynne. Some of the tracks are out in the acoustic version on Andrea’s SoundCloud channel and on his YouTube channel.
In the summer 2015 Andrea attended some UK festivals as Staxstonbury and 2000 Trees doing keys and bvs for his friend Becky Arundel, where he sang a duet with her on James Bay’s Hold Back the River.
In August he performed, thanks to BIMM London, at Thorpe Park for the Showcase Live #ISLANDBEAT Sessions.
In February 2016 he performed with his band at the legendary Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club, presenting I’ll take care of myself, the single he released on the 15th of April, and other tracks from his upcoming EP ‘Soultrip’.
In May 16 he wins the Akademia Music Awards for the best Pop/Dance song with I’ll Take Care Of Myself.
